Tavern Tune-Up: A Bardic Dice Brawl

Roll dice. Win the crowd. Become a legend.

(In-development board game)

The Big Idea

Tavern Tune-Up is a bardic brawl in a box. This theatrical board game of charm, chaos, and dice rolls brings you and your rivals onto the stage armed with dice, wit, and a flair for the dramatic. Each round is a performance—and the audience is hungry for entertainment.

How It Feels to Play

There’s tension in every roll. Do you go big and risk it all for crowd roar (points), or play it safe and hope someone else flubs their notes (roll)? The stage changes every round, and just when you think you’ve got the rhythm, someone plays a Stage Card that throws everything into beautiful chaos.

Peek at the Pieces

Behind the Scenes

Tavern Tune-Up began as a dice-rolling party game with just enough strategy to spark rivalries and just enough luck to keep it wild. We loved the push-your-luck thrill of rolling again—just one more time—and watching those risks either pay off brilliantly or blow up in someone’s face. The bardic theme came later, a team effort to wrap this competitive chaos in a little theatrical charm.

Thursday, our self-declared feline supervisor, is less impressed. He’s described the staging phase as “procrastination disguised as drama” and suggested we “learn to roll better the first time.” Still, he seems entertained—especially when one of us scores a glorious zero. His official stance: the game is noisy, distracting, and “needlessly complex,” but acceptable so long as Roary continues winning.
